Cleveland visit...

We journeyed to Cleveland yesterday to see Mike, Lori and Bailey. We went to J. Alexander's for lunch which was delicious and as you can see Bailey was ready! This picture reminds me of that line in the movie "Oliver",..."-please sir, may I have some more?" After lunch we went to a really neat kids park on the East side that looks like a little village and has many fun things for kids to do.

Bailey was off and running as soon as we got there. She had 4 followers that watched her every move...

We caught her... listened to her....

followed her....

transformed her...

lifted her...

and helped her to "glide" smoothly through the park! We decided that she is going to be an engineer or architect when she grows up because she studiously examines things like screw tops over and over again, loves trucks of all kinds, likes to watch things being built and runs outside to wave to the sanitation truck as it comes around each week.

It was a beautiful afternoon! We went shopping, then for an afternoon ride followed by dinner at our favorite deli and by that time she was really tired but so funny!! We look forward to a visit from Cooper next weekend,...stay tuned!

Rainstorm Entertainment!!

Tonight it started raining and in an hour rained a LOT!! We went to the lower deck and watched it for about a half hour with a neighbor. We all sat to watch the water come up and over the banks of the creek.

It got bigger and bigger till we wondered if it was going to carry the bridge (left corner) and picnic table away.

We saw logs floating by quickly and knew to stay out of the way.

The small bridge is loaded with debris following a storm and here we watched as it got hit several times by passing logs.

We have never seen it (rain water) go past the picnic area before.

It finally filled the whole yard but it goes down as quickly as it goes up. Very entertaining!
The bridge is still there...intact!

Memorial Day weekend...

This weekend it was so nice to have time to see friends and neighbors and have a little time left to relax! We invited our neighbors to go down to the pontoon boat with us.... Next door neighbors, Joan & Virg went with us looking great in their jaunty hats!Backdoor neighbors Dick & Jean went too...
Larry was on the lookout for fish having caught a few the day before...
And then Virg borrowed his Captain's hat...doesn't he really look like a sea captain??

We went over to the sailing club where they were putting in the sail boats ...

and we talked to them and watched for a while...
I thought this wooden boat above was just so ...pretty!!
We found some shade and had a nice lunch where Dick brought his famous rhubarb pie and Joan brought her cucumber dip...mmmmm!

We thought we were very entertaining hosts...until the end....

Today we had Dad over for breakfast which he enjoys...

and the kids found a new game to play...I played too, kinda fun! Chelsea is very good at it!

Home Tour...

Kathy and I went on a home tour this week....they were just wonderful homes and we had a great time!We asked ourselves "what would we do with a house like this?" And most times the answer was "really enjoy it!!" But there were one or two that we thought we could add a pointer to....
This was a beautiful house that had a gorgeous back yard setting too.
This was a large home that went down to a backyard creek and screened in picnic house...neat!
This one had a porch that you made you want to sit all day!!

This one was VERY modern and was a second home that the family use little of the year...
It had a creek running through it too and a patio right overlooking...such a wonderful setting!!
This French chateau' had a pool that Kathy wanted to take home!!!

Me too !!

I said ...Me too!!

This one had a "Hansel-Gretael" door peep-window....
We had lunch with a fashion show too...just a very girly day out with a lot of laughs!! We thought we were in HGTV!!

Happy Retirement Debby!!!

Last night, Osborn PTO threw my good friend, Debby Kiste, a surprise retirement party! She has taught second grade for 35+ years. Her mother-in-law Joyce and daughter Jen have also taught in that school. I wish I had a nice picture of Debby coming into the room, but it is blurred. She was truly surprised....fun! Here is her husband, Kip and granddaughter Emily....who stole the show!!
Many former students and teachers came to honor her as well as family and friends...

Here is Megan (engaged daughter) holding Emily who is reaching out to great-Grandmother...so cute!

Proud Grandma Debby...it was a really nice tribute to a great teacher!!!

Me...Linda and Debby....good friends for 37 years...former nextdoor neighbors and all had our first children and grandchildren in the same years!! Many, many milestones....

Emily taking in all the activity...such a good child!!!
