Waterfight and other fun!

It was a relaxing Sunday of silliness and that's always a good way to start the week! Mike & Lori brought the girls...and (above) are Bailey and Bryden, cousin bonding over a favorite...Scoobie!
We picnic-ed on the deck following a light rain.  Here are Lori and Emma having appetizers!

-and Gramps and Bryden discussing the afternoon strategy.

Another rain followed so we were stranded indoors for a while.  I had the world's greatest grandmother who always had special things at her house for us grandchildren.  Consequently, I have been waiting my whole life for grandchildren so I could echo her.  I have collected treasures that I thought they might like, forever, it seems.  Bailey explored these while we waited for the rain to clear up.

Emma found a few of her own....here looking like "Minnie Pearl"!

Mike & Lori started the "war" that continued outside...

later.  Each person found his/her own version of a squirt gun and battled it out!! This is Emma with a pig gun.

Bailey's gun wasn't working well enough...Grandpa had the best one.  She resorted to a pail of water.  Her aim was off so her dad helped her out a bit....
Grandpa hid in the playhouse, thinking he was safe there.  But alas, Mike poured it in!  Grandpa came out looking very wet and looking for his next victim!
The last laugh was on me, however, as I had to dry everything off today when Bryden and I went back out...lol!!!

Fun times! You are like Little Gramma, very fun lady and I know the kiddos had a good time. I laughed at this because everyone went inside because of the rain, then went outside for a water fight??? Oh well, the look on Larry's face is priceless! Glad you had a good time!

That sounds like so much fun! Yes, I was wondering the same as Yaya - rain you went IN for, but then you came OUT for the waterfight?!? No matter - it was a great way to spend the weekend. You're a good grandma!

What happy, glorious memories you are creating for your family. I love the bucket behind the back...and the aim a little off.

Too cute!

My two (of four) grandsons arrive at the end of the week. I've been planning for weeks!

Someone recently remarked that 'your grandchildren will be the last people to remember you; so be nice to them'. Thy'll obviously have very fond memories of YOU Donna.

Grandpa looks like he is going to get even with a few pranksters. Your fun post brings to mind a few water fights here as well!

That sounds like so much fun. I love the comment about your Grandma. I had the BEST grandma too and always thought I would do the same. However - I skipped an important step to having grandkids....no kids. LOL So I reported to being fun Auntie.

What a fun day!

=)

PS. My family loves water fights, too. In fact, Dave has even built a water balloon launcher. He is a child at heart.

What fun for the kids. I loved all the pictures. They are lucky to have such wonderful grandparents (I was going to say great instead of wonderful, but then decided it might be making you old like I am.)

Hi! I love the mosaics and all the pics...we survived the hurricane. Hi! Thanks for the prayers. The shore was not so bad this time so we were fine!
Friends of ours lost their vacation home in Vermont. It completely washed away in the heavy rain/flooding.

Hurricane season lasts for a while...I remember you have heavy rains a while back...We must store up our treasures in heaven!!
Love, Jennifer

I love what you wrote about always waiting to be a grandmother. Your grandmother was like mine. She left such loving memories for me that like you I so want to share with my little ones. My DL keeps me from a lot of these but thank goodness you haven't got those restrictions.
Donna I love your writing and post.
They show such love and I love you too

Hi Donna! Thanks so much for visiting me! Yes, I am experiencing the joy of grandmotherhood for the first time and enjoying every second. It seems like a great day although hubby doesn't look too thrilled at the end there! : ) I'm sure it will be remembered as a fun day though.
