Another rain followed so we were stranded indoors for a while. I had the world's greatest grandmother who always had special things at her house for us grandchildren. Consequently, I have been waiting my whole life for grandchildren so I could echo her. I have collected treasures that I thought they might like, forever, it seems. Bailey explored these while we waited for the rain to clear up.
later. Each person found his/her own version of a squirt gun and battled it out!! This is Emma with a pig gun.
Bailey's gun wasn't working well enough...Grandpa had the best one. She resorted to a pail of water. Her aim was off so her dad helped her out a bit....
Grandpa hid in the playhouse, thinking he was safe there. But alas, Mike poured it in! Grandpa came out looking very wet and looking for his next victim!

Fun times! You are like Little Gramma, very fun lady and I know the kiddos had a good time. I laughed at this because everyone went inside because of the rain, then went outside for a water fight??? Oh well, the look on Larry's face is priceless! Glad you had a good time!
Awesome memories. These are things the kids will remember for years.
That sounds like so much fun! Yes, I was wondering the same as Yaya - rain you went IN for, but then you came OUT for the waterfight?!? No matter - it was a great way to spend the weekend. You're a good grandma!
What happy, glorious memories you are creating for your family. I love the bucket behind the back...and the aim a little off.
Too cute!
My two (of four) grandsons arrive at the end of the week. I've been planning for weeks!
Someone recently remarked that 'your grandchildren will be the last people to remember you; so be nice to them'. Thy'll obviously have very fond memories of YOU Donna.
that kind of sillness is what makes memories. Great fun

Grandpa looks like he is going to get even with a few pranksters. Your fun post brings to mind a few water fights here as well!
That sounds like so much fun. I love the comment about your Grandma. I had the BEST grandma too and always thought I would do the same. However - I skipped an important step to having grandkids....no kids. LOL So I reported to being fun Auntie.
What a fun day!
=)
PS. My family loves water fights, too. In fact, Dave has even built a water balloon launcher. He is a child at heart.
You always have the best time with your grand kids, making sweet memories and bonding real tight. Great photos.
It's so special that grandpa is taking part. What a good sport. JB
Nothing like a great water fight!! They'll remember that forever...especially the part about Grandpa. What fun!
What amazing memories you're creating for those grandkids. This was such a great story, I could feel splashes of water as I read.
What fun for the kids. I loved all the pictures. They are lucky to have such wonderful grandparents (I was going to say great instead of wonderful, but then decided it might be making you old like I am.)
That waterfight made me laugh. Your husband's expression is priceless. What fun grandparents you are.
What fun memories Donna! I bet the grandkids want to come over to grandma and grandpa's house ALL the time! I hope I can be a fun grandma like you someday.
You are so right this is what memories are made off, I cannot wait to be a granny, but am going to be a new aunty in January so that will have to do for now at least I can start buying cute baby stuff..........
Oh what fun. I felt the joy in every photos. Thank you for sharing with us my sweet bloggy friend. Big Hugs!!!!
Love the pictures! Aren't grandkids the best? Thanks for sharing!
Hi! I love the mosaics and all the pics...we survived the hurricane. Hi! Thanks for the prayers. The shore was not so bad this time so we were fine!
Friends of ours lost their vacation home in Vermont. It completely washed away in the heavy rain/flooding.
Hurricane season lasts for a while...I remember you have heavy rains a while back...We must store up our treasures in heaven!!
Love, Jennifer
The perfect Grandmother Donna, if you ask me!
They must love visiting you....so so adorable!

I love what you wrote about always waiting to be a grandmother. Your grandmother was like mine. She left such loving memories for me that like you I so want to share with my little ones. My DL keeps me from a lot of these but thank goodness you haven't got those restrictions.
Donna I love your writing and post.
They show such love and I love you too
Maggie
Hi Donna! Thanks so much for visiting me! Yes, I am experiencing the joy of grandmotherhood for the first time and enjoying every second. It seems like a great day although hubby doesn't look too thrilled at the end there! : ) I'm sure it will be remembered as a fun day though.

The kids are obviously having a good time ♥
