P.lus S.ome more.....

On the last post, I mentioned how fast the rain had come and how our little foot bridge was damaged.
Last night's rain took our little bridge completely and left this trail of how high the water level came.  Our neighbor's bridges are gone too!  One neighbor was out early and said that he watched the water level all night in our creek and driving around town at the wee hours to find main 4 lane roads in town down to one passable. In the 22 years we have lived here, it's never been like this. My husband's business was flooded out too and he's up early with his employees to clean carpet.  I'll head out to help in a bit.
Mother Nature can be fearsome sometimes and watching our nation and the tornado and flood conditions elsewhere,  I'm extremely grateful that our house is intact and it wasn't worse.  The week's forecast?  Rain.

Oh, my! It must be difficult to watch and wonder -- and to be basically helpless to do anything about it!

I'm sorry to hear about your husband's business, too.

So far, we've had a lot of rain, but it's been spread out so that I don't know of any damage. Planting of crops has been delayed though...

I'm so sorry - and in your case, especially for your husband's business and for the area where you live. I hope things impove soon for you and everyone over there.

Oh, dear. I didn't know you were affected by all of this flooding.

Sorry to hear about the bridge and your husband's work. Hope everything else remains intact with rain coming again.

This crazy weather is such a worry.

Wow. We're getting massive amounts of rain here, too, but fortunately we're high enough that flooding won't be a problem. My heart goes out to everyone who has lost (or will lose) so much to the astonishing power of Mother Nature this spring.

I hope everything got rebuilt and cleaned up - and I'm very glad it didn't get to your house! I had to laugh after your comment on my Mother's Day. It's WONDERFUL to know that I'm not the only irrational mother out there. Maybe we should learn to say what we mean instead of what sounds nicest! I think you can honor the wife and STILL honor the mother - yes, I'm sure you can! Next year, my friend - we'll just take charge.

Sorry about all the damage...we are so water logged and our road is closed again..hope I can find a way to work! (or maybe not!) I'm really hating all this water and I think Spring is a washout..sorry, couldn't resist that.
