This is my corner by our entrance from the garage....
a place where we sit to put on boots or chat for a moment when entering the house. Many times it has coats thrown on it.
It was my weekend project to recover it. Yep...it's still there! This is the old original fabric before I covered it the last time, many years ago. I'd forgotten what was there..ha!
This is it! -my finished product...
I'm happy with the way this corner turned out. The picture of the sunflowers (my mother's favorite) was painted by a family friend. The portrait above that is my great-great maternal grandmother. Next to it are photographs taken in Ireland when we were there, and next to that is the Starkey family crest that I had made for my husband when we were there, so you can see this spot has little treasures in it.

Wonderful! Do you want to come over and teach me how to recover my furniture?
Love it! Looks beautiful.
Looks good Donna! You have such a great nack for decorating. Must be the artist in you. I have so many projects that it will take me until next spring to finish them.
Good job. I'm looking for a foot stool to recover. Any pointers?
Donna, what a charming entrance this is. You must have been a decorator in your previous life because you did a professional job. You can come and decorate my house too any time.
I love how you have group pictures with a painting that are dear to you and your family. JB
Fantastic job! I am so scared to recover my "ugly chair"....hopefully it will turn out at least half as good as yours!
What a great job and Ilove the colors.

They look great Donna! This post makes me anxious for garage sales this spring...last year I bought a chair for a dollar and recovered it...I'm hoping to find another one! Isn't it fun...and it completely changes the look!
Beautiful! The new look is cozy and inviting. Well done, Donna. (It makes me want to go back and buy some upholstery pieces I saw at a thrift store last week. They would make excellent chair covers. I'd recently covered a set of seats and didn't think I needed this new fabric...but after seeing yours.........)
Beautiful job, Donna...very professional. The pillow on the chair is especially nice, with the addition of the tabs.
Very nice job. I've always wondered how to recover. It seems so hard but you made it look very easy and so pretty.
I love the picture of your great great grandmother.
Have a great day!
Love the fabric and am so impressed you were able to do this yourself.
It look so welcoming. And really cool.
=)
How beautiful, I was given many gifts but this is definitely not one of them, I bought a sewing machine 15 years ago, had it out of its box twice... my daughter now uses it, it is only mine when it needs a service?? What a stunning job, but I would have expected nothing else...
Do you give lessons? I would love to learn how to do this kind of stuff. Every time I watch HGTV I get the bug...
It looks fabulous!
Looks fantastic Donna...you are one talented lady!!
Now...what's next? I usually find that once I get started there is no stopping me :)
Best wishes for a wonderful weekend Donna :)
