My Neighbor's House

Painting by daughter Chelle
Last night was a birthday celebration at  a neighbor's house.  I love to go to their house because it's so much fun!  Virg was a record producer and produced 60 some records.  Joan is a house wife who is warm, personable, cooks fantastically and is very "artsy".  An invitation to their house always promises to be with an interesting, "eclectic" group of people.  This time it was with a group of beloved neighbors.
Windchimes are by an artist named Dr.  Seus ( ?)
Their house is a step back in time full of art work and records.  You can see in this pic that the views are wonderful too...much better in the spring, summer and fall than now...but stellar nontheless.
Joan putting away dishes from the party today...
This painting was by daughter Chelle....I think.
I love this one over the fireplace too, done by an artist (obviously) not one of the family.

View from the deck....creek down hill below.

 View out the front window...
Painting in the den...I think Virg did this one.
Not even sure who painted these....Joan told me ...there is so much art that I am not adding and I can't remember it all.  It's worth showing though because it's so amazing to see!!
I think Virg did the one on the right...
and this one in the kitchen is by Joan!  She did it on tile.
This, in the kitchen,  is by a famous primitive artist friend.
And the black and white is by Virg, far corner with hat on.  We all gather at a large dining table and the conversation is the best part!
Our house is down a path from theirs, you can hardly see it for the trees....down the path and through the woods....from a really terrific time!!

I love looking at decor unlike my own. It sort of speaks a story about the people who live there. The artwork is truly amazing!

Hi Donna Sweetie...
Oh my what a wonderful artistic home to visit. I love going into a home that you just want to look and look, so many things to catch your eye.

The party looked wonderful and I just know the food was great along with great conversation and friends can an evening get any better than that?

Thank you so much for sharing the views. I thought the front view was gorgeous but then so was the back. I bet your view down that gorgeous path is just as beautiful.

I loved walking right along side you. Hope you had a beautiful Monday. We had a wonderful soft rain most of the day. The sun is out in time to set. It is beautiful. The rest of the week we are supposed to be in the 80s. I love this desert time of year. Just wonderful.

Many hugs sweetie and so much love, Sherry

Your post reminds me of why I miss having neighbors, because when you have some like you do, it makes life that much more enjoyable, fun and interesting--Just like the artwork! I am such a traditionalist when it comes to art and know nothing! :-)

What a neat place. I am always envious of people who have great neighbors. I thought when we moved into our development that we would meet some nice people to get together with...but that's just not the way it is here. People stick to themselves and aren't really interested in anything more than a friendly wave. I wish we could pick our house up and move it to a different area!

This is MY kind of place! I love the unique & original art. The views from the windows are great (probably means YOU have some wonderful views, too).

Evening conversation with my brother & sister-in-law were highlights of our vacation this past week.

I need to find more people living around me who ALSO enjoy conversation :) and plan some evenings just for that!

Thank you for your sweet compliment! I wish I knew what I was doing with my camera, but I really don't. I just take tons of pictures to try and get some good ones. I really think it is just the lens I got for Christmas. I would love to take some classes, but who has the time?
