Glass, a new OB and Anniversary weekend

The new OB atrium in our hospital...a new mom can come into this peaceful area to hold her baby, sit by the water (and I think, fire) feature to hold & rock her baby.

Another view of the atrium with skylight....

-Not finished yet but plants will be in pots and tables & chairs will be added...
Being in the glass business hubby, Larry has put glass into literally hundreds, maybe thousands of buildings during our married life.  They are all over the state of Ohio and a few in other states as well.  Many times we go through towns and cities where he says, "look over there...I put the glass in that building".  And I say, "Oh, that looks nice, honey...."
This week, I was never prouder than when he completed a new OB in our very own Samaritan Hospital, where I work.  It is state of the art gorgeous and I have to say the glass is the crown jewel!  Here are a few pics of this area....

A patient delivery room...see light above end of bed to deliver baby!

Other end of  patient room...there is a fold-out futon here too for Dad to rest.

Bath room..note glass shower!

Another view of atrium...note glass skylights!!

Great job, Starkey Glass!! I think this new OB will be a  fabulous addition to our community!!!
This weekend we went to Columbus to see Cooper....oh, -and Co.
This was a "ride" that grandparents gave Cooper for his birthday.  He loves it and I think I want one too!!!

It's such a joy to watch him!  He is pure exuberance in everything he does!  He is the word FUN!!!
We took him to a splash park in a mall and sat by to watch...so enjoyable!
Some big green frog came to play...ha!

 Tim talking to son...

~Thoughtful gifts and flowers from friends...and a cake from Chelsea,  -thankyou!!!
This weekend was also our 40th anniversary.  We celebrated quietly.  We went to see the movie "the Help" which is Oscar worthy, in our opinion...we laughed, we cried, and we laughed again.  It took place in the 60's and we relived that time all over once more. Then we had a sunset dinner in an extravagant restaurant talking about all the changes we had seen in the world during 40 years.  I toasted to 40 more.  Larry groaned and said..."gee, I hope we don't live to be that old!"  ~And so it goes....

Thank you, thank you, thank you! I've just checked on my wedding anniversary (which falls at the end of the month) and I see it'll be our 40th too. If I forgot it, my life wouldn't be worth living!!!

Love the glass, we've been putting dark brown aluminium framed plate-glass windows and doors everywhere here too. They look fabulous; even in our 300 year old cottage.

I do love all of the beautiful glass - your husband does gorgeous work. I've so enjoyed reading about your life and observations that I've passed on a blog award to you. It's on my blog with a link to yours. Enjoy!

Donna! Gary & I celebrated OUR 40th this year also! Congratulations to you.

Guess we're going to have to see The Help. We don't see too many movies - waiting for the "good ones". We've heard enough about this one to put it on our agenda.

You SHOULD be proud of your husband! What a beautiful facility this is/will be! Congratulations to him on a stellar reputation and expertise in his field.

Aren't waterpads wonderful? We've visited them a few times this summer, taking our visiting grandchildren. Someday, I'm going to play in one myself!

Happy Anniversary you two love birds! I think the area does look beautiful and you're right, the glass makes it shine! I guess I could take a teenie bit of pride since Phil helped put some in! I did laugh at Frazee today..he said if the hospital spent $1.00 on that unit, it was too much..he hates OB! So I took the opportunity to needle him about it a bit...we told him that if a boy baby was born blue lights would be used, if a girl..pink...hahaha! He actually gave me a dirty look! That only made me laugh harder!

Happy Anniversary.

My brother is working on that new addition too. I'm pretty sure the drywall is all his doing, but I'm not 100% sure.

The glass looks great.

Happy Anniversary! 40 is a big deal.

The glass is incredible - makes me wish I was younger and in a place to need that space. :-) It must be cool for you to be there and feel a bit of ownership.

I hit publish post before I commented on the Help.
I read that book earlier in the year and it blew me away.
The author went to college at the University of Alabama (as you may have guessed, I'm from Alabama).

Jilda and I've been married 37 years and it's hard to imagine where the time went.
Congratulations.

Your hubby did a fabulous job doing the glass at the hospital. What a beautiul place you have to work in. I am so glad you posted so many pictures of it. It would be nice to have a baby in your hospital!

Cooper looks like he is having lots of fun. He is a lucky little boy to have such neat parents, to say nothing about grandparents.

We celebrated our 39th anniversary while in Lake Tahoe at the wedding. We were married the day before Rich and Stacy. Our celebration seemed to take second place to the big affair that was going on. It's okay though, even though we would have loved to go to Harvey's fish buffet on Friday night.

Congratulations on your 40th!!

Hi Donna, thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. Unfortunately the little kitten didn't made it and died but at least I tried to save it.

I love all the beautiful glasses in areas in your new hospital. What a great place.

Congratulations on your 40th anniversary. You are doing a great job keeping yourself looking young. Hugs, JB
