Catching-up...

Tim, here with 18 mo.old nephew Bryden

This child has been here  a lot this summer and is learning to help me water plants....ie. take the hose and shoot up!!

This summer has flown by!  I think I have done only 4 posts all summer and haven't spent more than 4 hours total on the computer. Besides being busy, we've lost our air conditioning twice this hot summer, the refrigerator died too, -we've had a skunk invasion (!), and major car repairs, plus miscellaneous other misadventures too many to mention!  But everyone is healthy and you have to count blessings too.   I've missed reading my favorite blogs and sincerely hope fall brings a quieter time!  This week brought a bit of fun though, seeing all members of the family and that's always great.

Besides eating ice cream, Bryden keeps me going with learning a new word a day.  I have to laugh at some of the ways he says things...these pictures just say "more, please"!
His next favorite word is "bubbles"...

Hello...goodbye!

We got to see the girls this weekend too. Miss sweetheart Emma, being her sweet self...

Bailey too!!

We ate in a new Michael Simon restaurant...good burgers!!

Bailey playing a table game of "hide n' seek".

Uncle Mike and Bryden
Lori and Emma

A good time was had by all!!

You have such a cute family. I'm sure you've enjoyed sharing summer fun with them, despite the large and small calamities along the way.

=)

PS. The thought of no air conditioning makes me feel faint!

All good looking kids... very nice.

Still two weeks before my lovely grandsons will be here, but at least we have our youngest son and his girlfriend with us for a couple of months. It's been a bizarre summer so far!

I can see how busy you've been, Donna! We'll have our last group of grandchildren here beginning tomorrow. It's been such fun. Periods of R&R in between are badly needed, however :)

When it comes to appliances and other aggravations, why does it seem that "when it rains, it pours"? Hope your streak is over.

It's good to see/hear a little of the happenings at Starkey Hollow.

He is thoroughly enjoying that ice cream cone! It sounds like you and yaya are having the same kind of summer. I hope you get to rest in the fall. :)

Donna - lovely pictures of your grandchildren. Yes the time does seem to fly - our grand daughter is just turned sixteen. It seems no time since she was toddling about too!

How darling Donna are these pictures. I can see why you have not been posting because enjoying these adorable babies would be much more fun.
I have not been faithful with blogging either but hopefully I will get better soon.
Have a wonderful weekend

Lovely family! Ohhhh... a skunk invasion. When I worked retail I got a call after closing from a physician in Ohio. They had just returned from a trip to NYC to find that their home had been invaded by skunks. They had to trash everything and start from scratch, so she was calling me for bed linens, blankets, pillows, and even some clothes! One of the biggest sales I ever made (over 20K!) and I gained a great customer the rest of the time I was there. A skunk invasion must be horrific.

There is nothing more perfect than spending time with your family....especially after a skunk invasion. (Been there, done that. Not fun!)

Donna,
Glad you're back. While we have not had A/C breakdowns or car repairs, we have had multiple health challenges in the family this summer.

But this too chall pass. Have a wonderful week. ...Marsha
