Stories....

Today was one of those rare winter days that give you a break and make you long for spring!  It was 50* outside and felt like 60.  We had plans to go to meet Tim, and Cooper in Columbus and as you can see, the Christmas decorations were still up.
We met at one of our favorite spots...the Cheesecake Factory!  While we were waiting for our food to come,  Cooper and his grandfather started talking about "stories". Tim had told Coop how as a child whenever Larry drove the kids anywhere, (including the whole way to my parent's home in Chicago...) he would make up super hero stories to tell them complete with sound effects.
Cooper wanted Larry to tell him one too....so of course he obliged.
C
Cooper doesn't stay still for long so for him to have this rapt attention on the tale was fun to watch....
T
After lunch, we shopped a bit while Pa and Coop stayed in the common area of the mall.  We came back to see them still full into the stories. It took me right back to when our children were small.
Cooper enthralled in the details....
and then HE had one to tell!!! lol!
One last pic before going home.  It was great way to spend a January day!!

Told stories are great for the imagination. The expression on Cooper's face as he listens is priceless. What a super grandad.

You have a beautiful family.
It was beautiful yesterday in our area. Love Easton and The Cheesecake Factory. It is still beautiful today. The sunshine is so wonderful.
I like the picture of your grandchildren.

There you go...Larry has a second occupation..story teller and if he would write them down, perhaps even author! You could do the illustrations and it would be perfect! You could use Cooper and all the other grandkiddos as characters. I could be your agent....wake me up, I think I was dreaming! It looks like you had a fun day and the weather was wonderful. See ya tomorrow!

Cooper is so loving that story. There is something so magical, watching children rapt in a story. What a lovely day out together.

What a nice family day post. Cooper is telling a great story and it almost looks like it's one of those big fish that got away. He seems right into it.

Larry's stories must be very interesting to keep the men occupied while the girls go shopping.

Always a joy to read your post and look ate the gorgeous photos. Hugs, JB

I am sitting here thinking of how beautiful your family is and so glad you get to spend special times with them.
It has been a while since I have been to The Cheesecake factory in Austin.
They are fun to eat at and I had to laugh at Cro Magnon comment.
Hope you have a wonderful week

I love the look on Cooper's face as he listened to the stories his Grandpa told. Larry must be a very good story teller.

You can just see by your neat pictures that a good time was had by all. We quite like the Cheesecake Factory too!

Love your pictures! Donna, my blog was about the women in the article being TOO BUSY. You are, like most of us, busy and justified it being as such. Please don't feel guilty. I was just airing a pet peeve that when I ask people how they are the easy response is "busy," rather than telling me what's going on in their life. You are lovely!
