January...Friday the 13th!

This morning, I awoke to howling winds and yes, January did come!  School was cancelled, roads slippery and I noted that even the wreath on our barn had blown off.  The good news is that the weather has been great for this time of the year until now...so that we will have this weather for only about another 3 months!  We need groceries so I only have to go out once today, then can be cozy in my kitchen doing "things".  Ahhhh, Friday the 13th and Mother Nature!!!

It is beautiful but it sure came in with a fury. I have to head out as well. They haven't be up to plow our hill so hope I don't end up in a ditch. When school cancels they ignore us up here in the high altitude, hah
Cozy up.

Glad winter came to you at last. We are supposed to cool off a lot this weekend, too.

We had our first real blast of cold weather too, 14*F this morning, along with strong winds and snow! Not much coverage though.
Stay warm till fairer weather returns!

I'm not a superstitious person and it's a good thing as I have several black cats who crosses my path often at the barn, Lol... even today on Friday the 13th.

Our storm started when I went to the barn to feed the calves and when I came out there was already about 3 inches of snow on the ground.

Now it's raining and the temperature has gone up and the snow blanket is melting. Why don't I feel sad?

Cosy up with a warm drink and soft blanket and let everything go for tonight.

Stay safe and warm. Hugs JB

The trek to work wasn't fun...but of course all the patients made it in! I did get to head out early and even took a walk in the woods with the cold and snow..that was fun! Your barn looks so cute and pretty in the snow. Have a good weekend and stay warm!

That's a beautiful barn... more than I can say about the wretched snow, which I hate.

Oh, to wake up to snow--how magical! Won't happen here in Houston, but I'm headed to London this week, so maybe there's a chance.

Guess you should count your blessings Donna. They never close down school here due to weather, but it's mainly because the town is so small that everyone can pretty much walk to school. We awoke to 4 degrees this morning with about twenty knots of wind from the north. Being on the water makes it feel even colder. I can't wait till spring.
