Free Saturday....

It was a "funny" week...one where everything that could and would go wrong....really did!!  I won't bore you with all the details, but suffice it to say that it was a rather stressful week.
The weather changed too and the wind literally blew Fall in big time!
The nice thing that happened this week was that my sister, Lynn, passed through for a day on her way to see her daughter who lives in Delaware.  She will come again Monday on her way back home.  Since our parents died, it's wonderful to connect whenever we can even in the simplest of ways.
Just spending time talking finds a real pleasure for both of us!

As for the "Free Saturday"...we got up today and read the paper.  We knew that babysitting Bryden was part of our day and we saw three Fall festivals happening in our little town.  We had time to go to two.  The temp had really turned cooler and it was very windy so we bundled up and headed out. The first festival was at an orchard where they were giving wagon rides...FREE.

They also had FREE caramel apples, popcorn and hot dogs!! Yum!  The lines weren't too long yet but I felt sorry for the clean-up crew because the wind caused many a paper plate and napkin to go flying!

There were also many FREE photo-op spots and face painting for the kids.

We went on to festival number two which was a farm.  It is known for it's wonderful produce and also for pumpkins this time of year.  There was a FREE horse drawn wagon ride out to the pumpkin patches
There were not FREE food stands here, where the wind was taking down some of the decorations. (not sure where it was putting some of the help too...)

There was also a FREE petting zoo, and hay maze for the kids that ended in this slide.  Bryden went down about 25 time and loved every minute.

It was a fun afternoon that didn't cost much, took us all home tired from the fresh air and badly wanting a nap. zzzzzzZZZZZ!

Bryden looks so cute in his warm jacket and cap.

And all that FREE stuff had to make him very happy.

=)

PS. Glad you got to see your sister. I love spending time with mine, too.

We're lucky to have so many fun things to do this time of year. I'm glad you had a fun day with Bryden. Lynn looks great! It's nice she could stop by and then stop by on the way back. I'm looking forward to seeing my sis too this week. Let's hope our work week is better than last week's...it was a killer wasn't it?

My nearest small town (village) has it's annual 2 day 'Chestnut and Cepe' fête this weekend. But the Chestnut harvest has been very poor, and there are no Cepes. Too dry.

At least your week ended on a high note. Those fall festivals are the best. Bryden is one cute little dude. I think you have the best dressed grandkids. They always have on adorable outfits.

Fall festivals are some of my favorites--it's a real bonus to spend them with grandsons! Looks like you all had an awesome tine together.

Have a great week!

Donna, you are such a great grandmother to take your grandkids to fun places. These fall festivals are super cool and great on the pocketbook. Too bad the wind was so cold and strong.

Bryden looks mighty cute and well dressed for the occasion. I was nice seeing your sister and share some nice time together.

I'm sorry that many things didn't go well this past week for you. I hope that this week will be better. Hugs. JB

Wow! What a fun free Saturday! Since I retired all my Saturdays are free but not always fun. I would describe them more as "lazy" :-)

God bless and have a wonderful week! :-)

That little fellow with his hat, coat, and his short little legs crossed made me smile.

What a blessing to get to visit with your sister.

Oh, I DO love the free things in life...so simple...I used to give myself "free" days once a month...free cookies and coffee at Homemaker's Furniture store...free popcorn and apple cider at Earl May's Garden Center...especially nice during pumpkin days. Free lollipops at the bank when you deposit a paycheck...free samples at the grocery store...like a free lunch. My husband laughs at me...:)
