Working hard and hardly working....

I haven't blogged much lately because we have a major project going on at work and another at home.  The work one is a new hospital wide computer system that involves a lot of classes and a whole new learning curve. They tell us to think of it as starting a whole new job.  I miss reading and commenting on my favorite blogs but don't see much change till the end of summer.
The new project at home is an older home that we are helping Chelsea renovate which she will move into later this summer.  I'll post before and after pics when we get done.
Today was a free day for just babysitting (yay!) and Larry suggested we go to the outlet stores and ride their train.  It's a promotional thing but the kids all love it and we didn't even shop...just rode.
At first Bryden didn't know what to think of it all and was a little timid.

He checked out the other kids and saw that they were not afraid.  Pretty soon he was giggling and waving to the passersby.

Chelsea came for a late lunch and then went to work.  It was nice to just have time to sit and talk!
Larry did yard work yesterday while I was at an all day class for this new work thing and then continued today.  He really worked hard and it looks great!
Then there is Bryden here, working hard at playing.  We think he is soooo smart because he is finally starting to listen and responds well to things we tell him. (putting things away etc.) Tonight before bed, we had "60 minutes" on TV.  They were talking about Lady Gaga.  He still takes a rare bottle and calls it a "baba".  He looked at the TV and said "Gaga". Not sure that was a good thing...but we thought it was certainly quick!!
Then we went outside and he found his bat and ball.
He is quickly getting the hang of what to do with this...mostly chasing the ball! It's a real hoot to watch!
It's when you say in your head..."boys will be boys"!

Bryden looks like a fun little guy. Such a cutie!

=)

PS. Sorry about work. That is never fun when you have to learn a whole new system.

Bryden's hair is getting lighter..maybe it's the summer sun. I like his hat! Craig and Amy always head for the outlet mall and the kiddos love the train. Hope the classes weren't too boring, and hopefully very informative. It's really putting a damper on this summer isn't it?

Nothing better than a train ride with a cute little one like Bryden. That's when joy steals your heart.

Hope things are looking up with your projects....

The train ride looked like a fun experience.

Hopefully that computer system will be amazing and easy to use, next summer you will be amazed at how easy it was...I hope!

Hi Donna, The train ride sounds just perfect! I'll have to plan that soon w the grandkids...the boardwalk is a great place in summer here!..

My gaga story: I had to laugh bc my youngest brother called my sister Jessica "Gaga" bc he couldnt say "Gaga"...so I always think...we had the first Lady Gaga...so it's cute Bryden can say that too!
Best wishes w the new computer system..yes, it's important to stay current. The guys at work tell me they can spot an older person a mile away bc older people wear watches!! ha! young people love to text, rarely have phone conversations..so I guess we need to keep up w them. I do a little texting, do havblog, FB, website, twitter but who has time, esp without a watch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?

I feel your pain with the work situation. I can't count the number of times I've had to do that, and it's always difficult.
On the other hand, your little guy is adorable and looks like a lot of fun. And I'm looking forward to seeing the house before and after shots.

Hi Donna. I understand how work can demand a lot of your time and focus but I love how you always find time to enjoy your little grand kids. They grow up so fast it's unbelievable.

I'm always honored by your visits and I'll wait until time allows you to visit my blog again. Thanks for always leaving thoughtful comments. Have a great summer. Hugs. JB

I'm sure that Bryden is a smart little guy. I know you must have a lot of fun with him. Glad you posted the darling pictures.

It does sound like you will be really tied up for some time to come with your new system at work. I, too, may have to stop doing my blog again. I just don't seem to have anything interesting to say anymore. We'll see.

Bryden looks to be such a sweet boy, in the photos of him playing ball, his actions and looks remind me of my second youngest grandson Andrew who turns 15 soon.

You set a pretty table, Donna!

Is there anything better in life than a little down time with the grand baby?! Your little man looks like a fun little fella :)

Good luck with the new computer program. We have a new system in the greenhouse (started in January) and it is a HUGE challenge for all the staff, no doubt. We planned that it would take a year to get proficient at it but......it may take longer.
