We had a significant snowfall this weekend and winter has set in for sure! I like a cozy day...staying home and doing nothing. A fire, good book or movie, something warm on the stove and all is well.
The moon has been shining the last few nights and with the snowfall, you can see outside pretty well....even in the middle of the night. Hubby woke me out of a deep sleep last night (!!!!) to show me a herd of deer that were playing in our yard.
It was worth a missing a few winks sleep to see them frolicking all over. In the upper left corner of my very fuzzy pictures, you can see a large buck with all the deer. We counted 9 in all. If I could have gone outside, my pictures might have been amazing, but then I 'm sure, I would have none at all. My flash was trying to go off the whole time but couldn't focus.
I guess that's pretty obvious too and yet I enjoyed shooting what I saw.
After church today, we have Bryden for a while. He had his first experience with playdoh. He concentrated hard but I'm not convinced he was at all impressed with it...lol!
So he resorted to his good old airplane...
He's getting old enough to add sound effects...which reminds me of our boys when they were little. Here he has a mouth full of animal crackers too. What could be better than snacks and play?
A winter afternoon....fire, food, and good entertainment,...ahhhh!

Donna - really lovely pictures again. How exciting to spot all those deer outside your window. We have the odd one or two of them here, but don't see them very often.
I can tell you live in Ohio, hah. We have deer all the time. I always look out at night to see if I can see them and I don't Your pictures are good. We sure see the fresh tracks in the snow in the mornings. My 10 lbs Yorkie was outside trying to bark the deer away the other day. She was tied thank goodness. They just looked at her like, "Whatever."
Cute little guy. They are so much fun, aren't they.
What beautiful sights, deer in the snow, and grandchild with a mouthful of animal crackers!
Hope your Sunday is restful.
I wonder if the deer will be back. Were they snacking on your trees and bushes? Great shot of the deers just the same but I hope that they don't become a nuisance when the gardens are growing. They ate all my tulips one spring, thankfully the blossom weren't out yet so I still had blossoms later but the leaves were mostly a eaten.
Great pics of Bryden. Hugs. JB
how very lovely! Our snow turned to rain. the pics of the deer are wonderful. Enjoy a day off!! YAY! We are all going skiing sooon...

That would be quite a sight - kind of like "what to my wondering eyes should appear but a miniature sleigh and eight (nine?) tiny reindeer"!
I'm "with" you on a quiet, Sunday afternoon. I know you'll enjoy the rest of hte afternoon with your grandson.
Really wonderful pictures. We have not had much for deer come out.

I can't think of anything better than snacks and play...except maybe hanging out with that cute little guy! His sweater is so cute! And, it's been a long time since I've seen one of those cute little boxes of animal crackers. I don't remember my son ever having them. We got our first snow yesterday....I'm not enjoying it as much as you are!
It would be worth getting woke up in the middle of the night to see all those deer in your yard.
What fun...I love your photos of the deer and snow. We sometimes get snow in NC, deer abound but not in our neighborhood! My son gets them in his backyard often. Nothing like time spent with loving grandsons! I love where he's making sound effects...I really heard them!
Have fun!
Hugs~
Your night photos of the deer are mystical looking, Donna. It's been awhile since I've seen nine deer all at once, but sometimes the field looks like they had an overnight party.
I think your pics. of the deer look kind of vintage. Love all of your photo's and the fact that you share a part of your life with us. Beautiful grandboy you have. Sounds like you had a wonderful Sunday
take care!
Oh my gosh - he is a DOLL - and he looks adorable in that little sweater! Don't you just want to nibble and kiss those little cheeks all day long! I have always thought that the photos of your grandchildren are priceless!
(thanks for thinking mine are adorable too!!)
Love,
Vicki
Beautiful photos, and precious grand baby
It must be so exciting to have deer roaming so near your home and playtime with your adorable little grandson certainly makes for a perfect weekend.
No snow here, just rain. But we've been seeing lots of deer too.
I just want to kiss those chubby little cheeks of Bryden's. He is sooo adorable!!
Your Grandson is adorable as always. But those deer shots are so cool. they look like art work!

Cool shots! I think it looks eerie..it's funny to think about what's roaming when we're sleeping! Bryden is growing so fast and he's such a handsome kiddo. Glad you had a relaxing day but I'm sure today you are ready to head back to that warm fire after our orthopedic day from hell! It was fun working together though..the only good thing!
What a little cutie he is.. just adorable. And such a treat to see those deer in your yard. That's a lovely gift from Mother Nature, herself.
Your grandson is so, SO cute! And I would have happily missed sleep to have seen those deer. How lovely it is where you live!
I just love all the photo's with the snow, I just love the cold and the deer were amazing what a gift, and a memory. Wish i was there not melting in 37 %... lol
Oh Donna what great shots of the deer. Can't believe they showed up so well from inside your home. The moon must of really been shining.
Love the play doh pictures too. He is such a sweetheart.
We are having storms here today a small tornado touched down but thank goodness only trees were down out here and my house in town is fine.
Have a wonderful week honey stay warm and cozy
Love ya
Maggie
What precious lively entertainment too!!!
Snuggle in sweetie and enjoy your time with that handsome little fella!!!
God bless and have a magnificent day!!! :o)
That little guy is just so darned cute! I know how much fun it is to be around grandchildren. Aren't they just the best?
I also enjoyed the pictures of the deer. You are getting to be a great photographer, Donna. I can't imagine how much fun it would be to look outside my window and see deer, day or night! I understand though, that they can be quite destructive. I hope the ones around you don't give you any trouble.
